Luc Reuter
Biography
Luc Reuter works for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in the Division of Technology, Industry and Economics (DTIE). He is Programme Coordinator in the Sustainable Lifestyles, Cities and Industry branch.
Currently Luc is coordinating the National Policy component of the SwitchMed program. The overall objective of SwitchMed is to assist eight southern Mediterranean countries in moving towards a Green Economy, implementation of Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) patterns. Since 2012 he has been working on the elaboration and implementation of this regional project providing advisory services to governments in the Mediterranean in producing SCP assessments and developing SCP National Action Plans (SCP-NAPs) through multi-stakeholder and nationally-owned processes.
Since joining UNEP in 2008, he has managed different projects on mainstreaming SCP in national developpment plans and strategies in countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean.
Luc’s professional experiences further includes working with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in country offices in Senegal, Ethiopia and Comoros, with the European Commission as Program Manager in the EU Delegation in Dakar, Senegal, as Policy Advisor in the European Parliament and in the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium.
