Roberta de Palma
Biography
Roberta has a master degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in environmental technology. She has more than 20 years of working experience in managing complex sustainability projects in industry in the field of resource efficiency, corporate responsibility, eco-innovation and cleaner technology transfer.
Since 2004 she has been acting as chief technical advisor of the UNIDO MED TEST Programme (phase I and II) promoting the adoption of sustainable manufacturing practices in more than 200 industries and building the capacity of more than 30 service providers in the North African and Middle East Region. She has led the conceptual design of an integrated approach and toolkit (TEST) combining key elements of material flow cost accounting, cleaner production and management system for continuous improvement of industry performance, delivering training to companies in several countries.
She experienced working on several assignments for the private sector, the European Commission and the IFC related to CSR reporting, stakeholder analysis and engagement, carbon footprint reporting and RECP benchmarking sector studies, monitoring and evaluation of EU LIFE and EU eco-innovation initiatives.
