Fern Marie Bowles

Fern recently joined the SwitchMed team to work on the Green Entrepreneurs component of the programme at SCP/RAC, focusing on relations with Algeria, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia. On a personal level she is a keen environmentalist and advocate of a sustainable and circular approach to the economy and living. She considers these universal principles fundamental to creating closer relations and tackling common challenges such as unemployment and environmental degradation in the Mediterranean, as well as on an international level.

Having spent her early career in Brussels she has joined us from the European Commission where her focus was on cooperation with the Maghreb region. Prior to this she was working in UNEP’s Liaison Office to the EU in Brussels and at the European Parliament following Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affaires issues.
