Magalí Outters
Biography
Magali is an Engineer in “Materials: Economics and Environment” from the University of Technology of Troyes (France), Magali also holds a Master of Industrial Ecology, precursor of circular economy and a Post-graduate degree on International development.
She gained significant expertise in sustainable consumption and production (SCP) in the Mediterranean region with more than 10 years advocating for this approach and by being actively involved in numerous capacity building projects, technical studies, developing specific tools and pilot initiatives with governments, private sector organizations and Civil Society Organisations. She recently coordinated the development process of a Mediterranean Action Plan on Sustainable Consumption and Production, focused on food and agriculture, goods manufacturing, tourism and housing and construction sectors that was adopted by the 21 Mediterranean countries in February 2016, during the last Conference of the Parties to the Barcelona Convention for the Protection of the Mediterranean against the pollution. Under SwitchMed the initiative, she is currently coordinating the Policy Area for SCP/RAC (UNEP/MAP).
Outside the office, she likes experimenting SCP in the real life, practicing urban cycling with her little French-Italian family and escaping the wonderful Barcelona for relaxing picnics in the mountains.
