Biography
Sonia Ruiz is the Founder of NOIMA, Meaningful Communications a sustainability and social communications consultancy based in Barcelona, Spain. NOIMA works together with international organizations, foundations, corporations and eco-social entrepreneurs developing sustainability communications, social branding and stakeholder engagement strategies. Amongst other, NOIMA has collaborated with Greenpeace, the International Water Association, Unilever, Vodafone, and several international and local foundations in the field of human rights, sustainability and social inclusion.
Sonia has a 20-year experience and a record of accomplishment in international business development, marketing communications, corporate responsibility and sustainability in major corporate and non- profit environments. She is a senior researcher at the ESADE Business School- Institute of Social Innovation, where she is involved in the EU InnovatE project, which addresses the role of the citizens in creating sustainable business models, products or services as well as the prospects for sustainable lifestyles and green economy in Europe.
Sonia holds a degree on Political Science and International Relations from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and University of Birmingham and an MBA. She has also followed postgraduate education on Social Innovation, Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility, at Stanford, Harvard Kennedy School of Government and ESADE Business School.
